“Mikkos Triangle”

EMOM for 40 minutes
1: 17 cal Row
2: 17 cal Ski
3: 17 cal Bike
4: rest

Using the Concept2 machines: Rower, Ski and Bike. This was a “give it all you got” kind of workout. The only part that was comfortable was the first minute of rowing, the next two minutes I was pushing as hard as i could to make the 17 calories before the minute ended.

In the sheet below you can see how fast you have to be on the C2 machines to generate x calories in 60, 55 or 50 seconds.

The blood sugar started to raise a few minutes into the workout and kept raising until the end. As soon as I stopped working after 39 minutes the blood sugar started dropping quite fast.

Fuel Strategy

About an hour before the workout I had 80 gram carbs (pasta) with 3 units of insulin. You can see the small spike in blood sugar between 17 and 18 above.
